Our Journey
Al Nasr Relief Agency has been working with vulnerable communities since 1996 and was officially registered as a UK charity in 2017.
Registered locally in Badhan, Somalia, ANRA was founded by Somali diaspora women in the UK to improve the lives of disadvantaged communities across the Horn of Africa. Initially focused on restoring education following the 1988 civil conflict, ANRA now delivers humanitarian and community programmes across both the Horn of Africa and the UK.

Our Ethos
ANRA is guided by compassion, integrity, transparency, collaboration, empowerment and sustainability. We are committed to supporting communities with dignity while creating lasting and positive change.
Governance
ANRA is governed by a Board of Trustees in the UK who are actively involved in operational leadership, coordination and day-to-day management of projects across both the UK and Badhan, Somalia.
Final decisions on projects, priorities and approvals are made by the Senior Management Team, who are also the founders of the charity, based in both the UK and Badhan.
Together, the Trustees and Senior Management Teams work closely to ensure effective delivery, strong coordination and accountability across all programmes. ANRA is also supported by members, who are kept informed through regular updates on progress and achievements.
Accountability & Transparency
ANRA began as a membership-based organisation supported by monthly contributions from members. Today, it continues to uphold transparency through an Annual Members’ Meeting, where updates on projects, achievements and future plans are shared openly.
Through strong governance and community partnership, ANRA remains committed to delivering impactful and sustainable programmes across the Horn of Africa and the UK.
