Water Aid Appeal

Al-Nasr Relief Agency (ANRA) has been supporting the Give Water Project (U Gargaar Biyo) since August 2024 in Hargeisa, Somaliland. The initiative was launched in response to severe drought conditions affecting communities across Somalia.

The project provides clean water to vulnerable families living in simple huts on the outskirts of the city, where there is no reliable water supply. Many cannot afford to buy water due to extreme poverty, making access to this basic necessity a daily struggle.

What We Do

ANRA and its partners run a weekly water distribution programme, delivering approximately two water trucks to support families in need.

This regular supply helps communities meet their basic daily water needs and significantly improves health and wellbeing in areas where water scarcity is extreme.

Community Support

The project is sustained through collective community contributions with members donating around £10 per month to help fund ongoing water deliveries.

Why It Matters

These communities are among the most disadvantaged, with very limited access to essential services. Without this support, many families would struggle to meet basic survival needs.
