Water tap appeal
Al Nasr Relief Agency has embarked on an innovative Water Tap Project in the north-east region of Sanaag, Somalia, to provide clean running water to households that are unable to afford the installation of water pipes. This project supports vulnerable families by improving access to safe water directly within their homes, reducing the need to travel long distances to collect water.
The project is designed to be both practical and sustainable. Families contribute a small monthly maintenance fee, which helps cover the cost of water consumption, repairs, and ongoing upkeep of the system. This ensures that the service can continue operating in the long term without placing a heavy financial burden on low-income households.
By improving access to clean water, the Water Tap Project helps promote better health, hygiene, and quality of life. It also supports women, children, and elderly residents who are often most affected by the daily burden of collecting water. Through this initiative, Al Nasr Relief Agency is helping communities move towards safer, more reliable, and more dignified access to water.
